Events

This document outlines the functionality and details available within the Events section of the PE Devices portal. The Events section provides comprehensive logs of various device activities, including connectivity status, reboots, and configuration updates.

Overview

The Events section displays various event types, offering insights into device behavior and administrative actions. All event types share common fields:

Accessing Events

  • Go to the login > PE Devices > [Select PE] > Events.

Important Notes for Users

  • Event logs are read-only and cannot be modified by users.
  • System-generated actions will always show PLATFORM in the “Trigger By” column.
  • If a user performs an action, the “Trigger By” field will display the user’s registered email address.
  • Events are recorded in real-time, but display refresh may depend on UI or browser refresh.
  • Use the timestamp to correlate events with troubleshooting activities.
  • If expected events are missing, verify:
    • device connectivity
    • logging permissions
    • time synchronization
  • Event logs may be retained based on system retention policy (as configured by the platform admin).
