Notifications
This document explains how to configure email notifications for PE (Provider Edge) devices when they transition between online and offline states. The process is very similar to configuring notifications for CE (Customer Edge) devices.
Receiving these notifications ensures prompt awareness of status changes, enabling faster response times to any issues.
PE Alert Setting
When the device transitions between offline and online states, the system will automatically send an email notification to the specified user. The process for configuring email notifications for PE devices is similar to that for CE devices.
Please refer to the CE Alert Setting documentation for detailed steps. The basic rules and methods for configuring, modifying, and deleting email notifications are the same for both.

Important Notes for Users
- Email notifications are only sent when a PE device changes state between Online and Offline.
- Ensure that a valid notification email address is configured; otherwise, alerts will not be delivered.
- Notification settings for PE devices follow the same rules and behavior as CE device alerts.
- Only users with the appropriate permissions/roles can configure or modify alert settings.
- If a device is frequently flapping between Online and Offline states, multiple alerts may be generated.
- Make sure to check spam or junk folders if emails are not received.
- System time and time-zone configuration may affect the timestamp shown in alerts.
- If notifications are no longer required, they should be removed or disabled to avoid unnecessary emails.
