VPN Interface

This document provides a step-by-step guide for configuring a VPN interface by linking a CE (Customer Edge) device to a PE (Provider Edge) device. Make sure you follow the steps carefully to establish a successful VPN tunnel connection.

VPN Interface Column Fields Information

FieldDescription
NameThe name or identifier of the VPN interface.
GroupThe group name (i.e, br25) that classifies the interface.
HostThe IP address or hostname associated with the VPN interface.
Local PortThe port on the CE device used for VPN communication.
Remote PortThe port on the remote device (PE or another CE as a spoke device) used for VPN communication.
Traffic PolicyDefines traffic control rules such as bandwidth management.
Tx (Transmit)The amount of data sent through this VPN interface.
Rx (Receive)The amount of data received through this VPN interface.

Steps to Configure the VPN Interface

Access the VPN Tab

  • Navigate to Login > CE Device > [Select CE] > Interface > VPN Tab.

  • Click the Link PE button located on the right side of the screen.

Provide Required Details

  • Fill in the details below to proceed with the configuration:

    • Region

      • Select the region code specific to the country.
      • Region codes vary by country. For example, IND for India.
    • PE Device IP

      • Select the PE Device IP from the available IP.
    • Click on Assign button.

    Once the link process is complete, the Link PE button will no longer appear.

  • After linking, a confirmation message Device is linked successfully will appear on the screen.

Enable the Gateway

  • Navigate to the Gateway menu.

  • Enable the CGW by selecting the Enable Gateway checkbox, as shown below. Then, click the Save Config button. For more detailed information on CGW configuration, please refer to the Cgw Documentation.

Verify VPN Tunnel Connection

  • Wait for 2 to 4 minutes after linking.

  • Verify the connection status:

    • Check the vtun4_2 interface status.
    • If the interface shows green, the VPN tunnel is successfully connected.
